Kelly Clarkson (American singer/songwriter) is a popular American after winning American Idol's first season. This win catapulted Clarkson into the spotlight and secured her a contract with RCA Records 19 Recordings, as well as 'S Records. Since then, she's recorded numerous studio albums, including three which topped the US Billboard 200' chart, while her other albums barely fell short of the top spot. She's one of the biggest artists that have come out from American Idol. After achieving success, she explored a variety of themes and music styles often singing with her partner in line of her own feelings. Her individuality and her singing talent earned her praise from critics along with a host of important prizes. In particular, she has been awarded the Grammy Award a record three times. Apart from her music career she has appeared in films as well as television programs. She has also written the book for children River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and been involved in various charities.
